Impregnable story of Anamika (name changed)

I am an educated working woman, but still I couldn’t raise my voice against their torture for so many years. The statement was given by a 33yrs old lady "Anamika" when she was in counselling session with the team of Talaash Association for the first time. She belongs to a Muslim orthodox family from Orissa and was shifted to Bangalore after marriage. Day after day she has been abused and tortured physically and mentally. She has done her duty towards her family whole heartedly and what she has got in return is abusive comments and painful days. There was no one to listen to her silent scream. Forsaken by all, she had attempted to take her life on several occasions. Still she soldiered on, six years of horrific mistreatment, for her child.
Talaash Association sprang into action as this pleading soul approached and provided with all the necessary aids.
When she came in contact of our team she blasted out with her suppressed emotions and tears rolled down from her cheeks continuously. She was weighed down with heavy draught of medicine. Talaash team has provided grief counseling and medical support for her. She was under observation for two days in a leading medical institution. With the help of Talaash Anamika and her family was send to Vanitha Sahaya Vani for family counseling. Team Talaash has provided shelter facility to her for some time as she was not safe in her home.
Anamika’s husband and his family follow Shariyat Law and conducted Jamaati to discuss about the case. She has attended the meeting and Jamaati decided to send her back to the husband with her kid an ensure safety and protection for her. Talaash team has provided all the support to her and assisted with a full time case worker. Continuous counseling was provided to give strength to face the upcoming challenges. Team Talaash is in continuous touch with her to assuage her miseries and to regain her credence.
